Validation - Overview

This section describes how the system was validated to ensure it meets the requirements specified in the requirements analysis.

Validation Strategy

The validation process consists of two main components:

  1. Automatic Testing - Automated verification through unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end tests
  2. Acceptance Testing - Manual testing and user validation to ensure business requirements are met

Test Metrics

Metric Target Current
Code Coverage 80% [%]
Test Pass Rate 100% [%]
Performance < 500ms [ms]
Availability 99.9% [%]

Quality Gates

Before deployment to production, the system must pass:

  • [ ] All unit tests pass
  • [ ] Code coverage > 80%
  • [ ] All integration tests pass
  • [ ] Performance tests pass (latency < 500ms)
  • [ ] Security scanning passes
  • [ ] Load test passes (capacity target)
  • [ ] Manual acceptance tests passed

Traceability Matrix

Each test is linked to requirements to ensure coverage:

Test ID Test Name Requirement(s) Status
UT001 Test user creation FR1 [Pass/Fail]
IT001 Test user-DB integration FR1, NFR2 [Pass/Fail]
E2E001 Complete user signup flow FR1, NFR1 [Pass/Fail]
